Why can’t I import my Excel contacts into my new phone?

    I recently switched to a new smartphone and tried to import my contacts stored in an Excel (.xlsx) file. However, the phone is not accepting the Excel file, and there is no direct option to upload contacts in this format. Why does this happen, and what is the correct way to import Excel contacts into a phone? I would also appreciate a solution to successfully move my Excel contacts to my new device.
