CSV files are not capable of storing pictures of embedded contacts, and hence most converters simply drop the image data. When I first tried to export VCF contacts to CSV, I also lost all my contact pictures. What I used was Softaken vCard to CSV Converter; as it cannot store pictures in CSV, the tool takes them out and stores them separately in a folder while it converts. In this way, the text fields go to the CSV, and the pictures are still available for future use. Besides, it also recognizes base64-encoded pictures from the backup of Android and iPhone, which is the point where most converters fail. The preview allows you to see which contacts actually have pictures before exporting. This method allowed me to save every profile image as a backup while still converting the main contact details to a CSV file correctly.
