Some of my contacts have two or three phone numbers—home, work, and mobile. When I use a standard Free Excel to vCard Converter, only one number appears in the VCF. I want all numbers retained because my phone supports multiple labels. Is there a specific way to format multiple numbers in Excel before exporting?

    Hey,

It‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ is difficult to manage contacts that have more than one phone number because some Excel to VCF Converter tools only allow one number to be mapped per row. On the other hand, vCard files support multiple TEL fields, so you only have to arrange the data properly.

Get your Excel ready as follows:

Differentiate the Mobile, Home and Work columns by creating new ones for each.

Do not put more than one number in the same cell.

Make sure every number is in plain text.

Do not use special characters or merged cells.

Make sure that each row has at least one primary number.

While exporting, take a converter that supports multi-field mapping. This will allow every number to be linked to its correct vCard category. If you are using a well-organized tool like WholeClear Excel to vCard Converter to convert Excel to VCF, then each phone type (CELL, WORK, HOME) will be separately exported without any field getting mixed ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌up.
