If you change the engine in a car or put in some new parts, upgrade the car in some way, do you have to report that to the insurance company?

I think it’s better to report it, especially if the changes are significant. Swapping the engine is a major change, since it affects the car’s value, specs, insurance risks, and so on. Any external upgrades, like https://bumperstock.com/collections/gmc-bumpers , most of them don’t automatically affect the contract, but I’d still notify just in case. Plus, a bumper like that affects power, weight, and stuff like that.
