Social media plays a huge role in teenagers’ lives, but how much should parents monitor or restrict their activity? Should parents be able to access their teen’s accounts, or is that an invasion of privacy? How do you manage the balance between keeping track of online behavior and allowing them to have privacy?

This is such a complicated issue. On one hand, teens deserve their privacy to grow and make choices, but on the other, the internet can be seriously dangerous. I think it’s more about teaching them to be thoughtful online than just monitoring everything. My cousin uses Kroha app track phone location with her son, and she said it helps her worry less while still giving him independence. For me, I’d rather build trust first, and use tools only when necessary. But I totally get why some parents feel the need to step in more directly.
